Here are some photos of one of our latest kitchen renos in Montreal’s plateau area. The last photo is what the kitchen used to look like. The melanine cabinets were switched for traditional white Ikea cabinets and we added a beautiful dark brown/forest green glass backsplash.

Here are some great tips I found on Brightnest Blog for displaying art in your home:

Art no doubt adds that personal touch to any home, but does it always have to hung the same way? Definitely not! Leaning art adds dimension, texture and visual appeal to any room, plus it gives you all of the color with none of the commitment! Easily move pieces from room to room without worrying about damaging drywall or patching holes. To make it look intentional, stack books below the piece or lean the art on a bench or table. Small paintings or photographs look best when they’re layered or stacked, while large mirrors and paintings can generally hold their own.

Tip: Leaning large pieces of art or a mirror along the floor is an easy way to hide ugly wall outlets.

Black and white never goes out of style! Especially loving the combination of prints on the accessories in the first photo.

How to Make an Entrance

I’ve always been fascinated by photography featuring doors or interesting entryways, so when I came across this photo on the blog Freshome I knew I had to share. I love the quirkyness of the blue door…the fact that the window, address and panels are offset gives the photo this great unsettling quality. The photos following it feature doors in Dublin, while the last one was taken in Boston on Dwight street. Slightly creepy.

It’s always inspiring to see the way people make interesting use of small spaces. This industrial loft is just genius. The square lights above the stairs are a nice touch and of course, there’s my future Eames chair!

Interesting project we’ve got—completely demolish and rebuild a 1950’s style upper and lower balcony

Expect the worse! If you’re working on a similar job, expect the bricks behind the wood to be damaged.
